Birthday Girl

On September 20th, it was my birthday, again…. the dread. This year, like last year, there was a place for me to focus on other than age. I was able to celebrate in a manner that I didn’t know I would enjoy so much. The near entirety of the day was with my little love, Amoura, and I. And that was all. I didn’t expect anything out of the day other than the ophthalmologist, I expected just another routine day but somehow, I managed to find it most enjoyable.

A little Birthday shopping in Beverly Hills! Oh, a Happy girl is born. Top on the right is by La Perla.
How can a girl not be happy with Chanel and Chocolate from Sugarfina?
Amoura and I are doing a great hobby, catching air. She loves her necklace from Vanderpump Pets
Amoura and I are on our way into another shopping area. Oh the JOY! She is feeling much better after seeing her opthamologist and getting medicine for that pesky overnight Glaucoma. Thank you to our wonderful ophthalmologist, Dr. Marchione at VCA Animal Hospital! You have made her scary feelings and swelling pain go bye bye. We Love you.
She wants to sleep, it’s been a very long day with Mommy. This is her the entire way to our next destination, which is an hour away to meet my sister for Coffee and… more shopping!
Although, she’s had a very long day, there is nothing that can spark joy and wake you up much happier than an alarm clock ever could, a tasty and refreshing fluffy puppaccino.
Roses! Chanel! Oh, the LOVE
Agent Provocoterur. Chanel, Roses, La Perla and SAINT LAURENT!
The thrill of the Heel!
What a surprisingly beautiful birthday
Oh YUM, the giant bottle
Saint Laurent Tribtoo . . . . . <3
Soon thereafter, another checkup to the opthamologist and more shopping with MOMO!
Rag and Bone. SO much LOVE

Of Course, Momo loves her sweets.  So, let’s end this post on a sweet note.

LA Philharmonic – Holst’s ‘The Planets’

Twas near the end of Summer when the LA Philharmonic Performed Holst’s ‘The Planets’ at the Hollywood Bowl. It also happened to be my sisters birthday! So, we went together and had a marvelous time. It was with great joy that we were able to see this performance, under the stars. Could it ever be more perfect than that? Most certainly not. She isn’t all that familiar with classical music but she knows how passionately I feel about certain pieces, and certain movements of ‘The Planets’ are one of my passions.

If you haven’t had the chance to check out Holst’s work, I recommend doing so! On YouTube, here is the entire 7 part act it only takes 49 minutes. But it is so epic and worth it! I have a few favorite pieces myself; “Mars, The Bringer of War”, which is the first act is a particular favorite do to it’s intense fiery nature! And I also love the ending, “Neptune , The Mystic” for it’s amazing feeling of a new day and feeling like an ascension.

Oh such beauty!  It was with great pleasure to be able to see the L.A. Philharmonic perform at the Hollywood Bowl performing Holst’s ‘The Planets’.

My sister and I awaiting for the show to begin!

Of course I come prepared! I brought the bubbly. It’s never a celebration until there is champagne. Bring the ‘pagne on!

Since this is a post regarding her lovely birthday, I also made her a dessert and dinner too. Since she is a big fan of my cooking, I dote upon her. And also, she is a big big fan of my cheesecake. At this point, I am well regarded for my baking prowess.  This birthday, I made her a brown butter cheesecake! Oh, the decadence! She thoroughly enjoyed it and said it was stellar. I think I could do better and will do better next time.

She loves balloons!

My sister with her flowers, yes, I arranged them. Her favorite color is a pale purple. Happiness overload for this girl.

Sweet simple dinner table.

Here is Amoura showing off her beautiful tutu. My little Princess Ballerina. She is definitely a baller-ina. LOL!

My floral arrangement in lovely roses in cream and hues of purple.
